Warranty

1. How long does the Nomad Mattress warranty last?

Your Nomad Mattress is backed by a 20-year limited warranty, starting from the original date of purchase. For two full decades, we’ll cover your mattress against any manufacturing defects that impact performance or durability. It’s our way of saying—we believe in the bed we built for you.

2. What’s covered under the 20-year warranty?

We cover manufacturing defects that may affect your mattress’s structure and performance. This includes:

  • Visible sagging or body impressions greater than 1 inch (2.5 cm) that aren’t caused by improper support
  • Cracking or splitting of the foam core
  • Defects in the fabric cover, such as unraveling seams or stitching failures
  • If a defect affects how your mattress feels, performs, or holds up, and it wasn’t caused by misuse or external damage, it’s likely covered.
3. What is not covered by the warranty?

Certain conditions and issues fall outside of our warranty coverage. These include:

Normal softening of the mattress over time with regular use

  • Comfort preferences (e.g., too firm, too soft)
  • Damage from misuse, such as burns, tears, or stains
  • Spills, pet accidents, or liquid damage
  • Mattress odors when first unboxed (these are normal and fade quickly)
  • Mattresses sold “as-is” or marked as a final sale
  • Mattress damage from improper foundations, like sagging slats or broken box springs
  • Shipping costs for warranty returns or replacements

Maintaining your mattress with proper support and care helps ensure your warranty stays intact.

4. What qualifies as sagging under warranty?

We define sagging as a visible body impression greater than 1 inch (2.5 cm) that is present even when no weight is on the mattress. If sagging occurs despite using a proper foundation, it may be considered a defect and covered under warranty.

However, small body impressions due to natural softening of the foam over time are considered normal and not covered.

5. Does the warranty apply if I use my own bed frame or base?

Yes, the warranty remains valid as long as the mattress is used on a suitable, supportive foundation. This includes:

  • Solid platform bases
  • Slatted bases (with slats no more than 3 inches apart)
  • Box springs are in good condition

Using the mattress on an unsupportive or broken base may void your warranty, especially in cases of sagging.

6. Can I transfer the warranty to someone else?

No, the warranty is non-transferable and only applies to the original purchaser. You’ll need your original proof of purchase to make a valid claim.

7. How do I make a warranty claim?

We’ve made it easy to request support if something’s not right. To file a claim:

Contact us at customercare@nomad-mattress.com or call 1-800-265-9615

  • Include your original receipt or proof of purchase
  • Attach clear photos or a short video of the issue
  • Provide a brief description of the problem and when it began

Once we receive your claim, our team will review and determine if your issue is eligible under warranty. In some cases, we may ask you to return the mattress for inspection.

8. What happens after I submit a warranty claim?

After reviewing your claim, we’ll determine whether the issue is covered. If approved, we will:

  • Repair the defective mattress
  • Replace it with a new one
  • Or offer a comparable substitute if the model is no longer available
  • We strive to process claims promptly so you can get back to sleeping soundly.
9. Who pays for shipping during a warranty claim?

While we cover the cost of the mattress repair or replacement, you are responsible for all shipping and transportation costs related to the warranty claim. This includes the cost to return the mattress to us and receive a replacement, if applicable.

10. What laws apply to this warranty?

This warranty is governed by Ontario and Canadian consumer laws. Depending on your province, you may have additional legal rights beyond those listed here.

11. Any tips for protecting my mattress and keeping my warranty valid?

Definitely! Here’s how to extend the life of your Nomad Mattress and maintain warranty coverage:

  • Always use a mattress protector to guard against spills and stains
  • Keep the mattress on a solid or properly slatted base
  • Avoid bending, folding, or placing heavy items on the mattress
  • Rotate the mattress every 3–6 months to promote even wear
  • Do not remove the law tag or label
